This on demand workshop is on the Creative Spark Online Learning Platform. This experience is a great way to support connection, inspiration, and creativity in the comfort of your own home from my studio to yours! The lessons are available to you for 1 year after your purchase.

In it, I will guide you through finding inspiration from real and imaginary sites, selecting a color palette, transforming a place's essential lines and shapes into quilt designs, creating luminous textures with fabric layering, paints, stamps, stencils, drawing, free-motion stitching, and appliqué.

You will make a fiber art map to capture the ingredients of a spot on the globe that holds personal meaning for you! This experience is all about exploring mixed media techniques that includes fabric, paint, and thread to create a unique and interesting textile map. I want to bring your own energy and experience to the process as I demonstrate several fun collage techniques!

You will learn various techniques such as:

·        Finding maps and how to transfer the information to fabric.

·        Selecting your color palette.

·        Layering to create beautiful, rich surfaces.

·        How to use sheers to make transparent, watercolor-like effects.

·        Using paint on fabric.

·        Using Hand and Machine Stitching to define and add detail to your map.
